Our first BIG FUNDRAISER WEEK 22nd - 28th June

We need your help! We rely entirely on donations and grants to help maintain our services for the young people of Tavistock and surrounding areas. This year we are hosting our first BIG FUNDRAISER WEEK to help fund our summer program. There will be a week of fundraising events and we need ALL OF YOU to get involved!

It has been a real challenge to access grant funding this year, even when applying for small funding pots, there can be another thousand applications. That's why we really need to start fundraising more within our own community. All the proceeds will go towards running our summer programme, which include adventure trips, youth club sessions in the park and creative activity sessions at TYC.

On Thursday, June 25th, we are organising a quiz at 7pm in the Bedford Hotel, hosted by former town mayor Steve Hipsey, renowned for creating a fun, but competitive atmosphere.

Eloise Scaysbrook, youth worker at TYC, said: “If you have attended one of Steve’s quizzes in the past you will know this is a night not to be missed! Put your knowledge to the test with a night of entertainment, head scratching and laughs." There will also be a raffle, with prizes, including hampers and local dining vouchers.

A fundraising event for young people will also be staged at the youth cafe, with live music, open mic and a bbq on Friday, June 26th, from 5pm - 7pm.

On Sunday 28th, we will be hosting a charity walk, from Clearbrook back to Tavistock Youth Cafe. 8 Miles along Drakes Trail! This community walk is open to everyone, all ages and abilities. Bring along your friends, parents/carers and family members! Walk at your own pace heading back to TYC for free refreshments and cake!

A mini-bus is available to reach the start transport, but places are limited and can be reserved. To help raise funds walkers are encouraged to be sponsored or sponsor themselves. It is very simple to do this through the charity's Just Giving page.

TYC values the support and enthusiasm that we get from our community and we know how much our organisation means to young people and their families. We deliver all of our activities for free or at an extremely low cost to ensure everyone can benefit from our service. That’s why we are asking for people to get involved with our fundraising week, the more people that can give a little will mean a lot!!”

If you would like to attend any of these events please sign up via our website.
