TAVISKATE
STORY.

In 2023, TYC brought together a dedicated steering group to kickstart the vision for a new, fully accessible concrete skatepark in Tavistock. The project was born from strong local demand for inclusive, safe, and inspiring spaces where young people can skate, scoot, and BMX.

Over the past few years, we’ve worked closely with the community—through public events, conversations, and surveys—to gather evidence and build support. This work helped secure the skatepark’s inclusion in the Tavistock Neighbourhood Development Plan.

TaviSkate is now an independent CIC and TYC continues to work in close collaboration with them and Tavistock Town Council to help realise this landmark project. We’re also partnering with leading skatepark designers CANVAS SPACES to ensure the new space reflects the needs and creativity of local riders.
